{"id":1559,"date":"2020-11-25T14:33:22","date_gmt":"2020-11-25T10:33:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/qia.az\/en\/?p=1559"},"modified":"2020-11-25T14:33:23","modified_gmt":"2020-11-25T10:33:23","slug":"socar-lukoil-to-expand-cooperation-in-azerbaijan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/qia.az\/en\/socar-lukoil-to-expand-cooperation-in-azerbaijan\/","title":{"rendered":"SOCAR, LUKoil to expand cooperation in Azerbaijan"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev and President of LUKoil Vahid Alakbarov have met,\u00a0<strong>&#8220;Q\u0130A.AZ&#8221;<\/strong>\u00a0informs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SOCAR Vice President for Investments and Marketing Elshad Nasirov and Chief of Investment Department Vagif Aliyev attended the conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting focused on long-term cooperation between LUKoil and SOCAR, praised the participation of LUKoil in projects implemented in Azerbaijan, and discussed the continuation of collaboration in Nakhchivan and Goshadash structures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alakbarov said LUKoil was interested in expanding existing cooperation. The participants held talks on the company&#8217;s possible participation in other oil and gas exploration fields and production in Azerbaijan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LUKoil has been operating in the oil and gas sector of Azerbaijan since 1994. The company has a 10 percent stake in each of the Shah Deniz and South Caucasus Pipeline projects. Also, in January this year, the two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the exploration block covering the promising structure &#8220;Nakhchivan&#8221; in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, as well as &#8220;Caspian-Guba&#8221; and &#8220;Goshadash&#8221; in the shallow part of the sea.
