{"id":3376,"date":"2021-01-14T23:25:01","date_gmt":"2021-01-14T19:25:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/qia.az\/en\/?p=3376"},"modified":"2021-01-14T23:25:03","modified_gmt":"2021-01-14T19:25:03","slug":"president-erdogan-receives-first-dose-of-sinovacs-covid-19-vaccine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/qia.az\/en\/president-erdogan-receives-first-dose-of-sinovacs-covid-19-vaccine\/","title":{"rendered":"President Erdogan receives first dose of Sinovac&#8217;s COVID-19 vaccine"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday received the first dose of Sinovac\u2019s COVID-19 vaccine at Ankara City Hospital in the Turkish capital,\u00a0<strong>Q\u0130A.AZ <\/strong>reports citing\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysabah.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Daily Sabah<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I got vaccinated as well,&#8221; Erdogan said on the Telegram social network after receiving the jab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Addressing reporters while leaving the hospital, the president said that some 256,000 people across Turkey have received their first doses so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We aim to vaccinate all of our citizens as soon as possible,&#8221; he said adding that nearly 30 million more doses of vaccine will come from China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Turkey began administering the shots developed by China&#8217;s Sinovac to health workers on Thursday, as it rolls out a nationwide vaccination program against the disease that has killed more than 23,000 people in the country. It has so far vaccinated more than 200,000 health workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Health Minister Fahrettin Koca and members of the ministry&#8217;s Coronavirus Scientific Advisory Board were the first to get shots late Wednesday.
