{"id":4791,"date":"2021-04-11T17:40:14","date_gmt":"2021-04-11T13:40:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/qia.az\/en\/?p=4791"},"modified":"2021-04-11T17:40:16","modified_gmt":"2021-04-11T13:40:16","slug":"5-azerbaijani-veterans-get-prosthesis-in-turkey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/qia.az\/en\/5-azerbaijani-veterans-get-prosthesis-in-turkey\/","title":{"rendered":"5 Azerbaijani veterans get prosthesis in Turkey"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Azerbaijani soldiers, mine clearance officials lost body parts during Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Five Azerbaijani veterans wounded in Nagorno-Karabakh have been fitted with prosthesis in Turkey as part of an aid project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They were brought to Istanbul within the scope of a project by Turkey\u2019s Humanitarian Relief Foundation, and Alliance of International Doctors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prosthesis for the veterans, including soldiers and mine clearance officials who lost their body parts in the conflict zone, were prepared in Azerbaijan\u2019s capital Baku and fitted in Istanbul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Veterans will return to their home country after completing physical therapy and rehabilitation processes in Turkey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Novruz Novruzov, a veteran, told Anadolu Agency that his right leg was injured when a mortar shell hit Akdere region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was treated in hospital for about 45 days and his leg, but it had to be amputated due to gangrene. \u201cBefore I was walking with crutches. I am very happy now &#8230; I have my prosthesis,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Liberation of Karabakh<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1991, the Armenian military occupied Nagorno-Karabakh (Upper Karabakh), internationally recognized as Azerbaijani territory, and seven adjacent regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last September, the Armenian army launched attacks on civilians and Azerbaijani forces, and violated several humanitarian cease-fire agreements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the 44-day conflict, which ended under a Nov. 10 deal, Azerbaijan liberated several cities and nearly 300 settlements and villages from Armenian occupation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-large is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/Qia.az\" class=\"rank-math-link\">Q\u0130A.az<\/a><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Azerbaijani soldiers, mine clearance officials lost body parts during Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
