{"id":586,"date":"2020-11-11T12:36:01","date_gmt":"2020-11-11T08:36:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/qia.az\/en\/?p=586"},"modified":"2020-11-11T12:36:02","modified_gmt":"2020-11-11T08:36:02","slug":"difficult-to-consider-france-unbiased-mediator-in-karabakh-conflict-issue-ukrainian-analyst","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/qia.az\/en\/difficult-to-consider-france-unbiased-mediator-in-karabakh-conflict-issue-ukrainian-analyst\/","title":{"rendered":"Difficult to consider France unbiased mediator in Karabakh conflict issue &#8211; Ukrainian analyst"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>It is difficult to consider France as an unbiased mediator in the issue related to the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Ukrainian political analyst Petro Oleshchuk told\u00a0<strong>Q\u0130A.AZ<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFrance, as the co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, has shown itself to be a very controversial mediator,\u201d political analyst added. \u201cThe desire of the political leadership to please the Armenian diaspora inside the country has always played a significant role in France\u2019s position.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following over a month of military action to liberate its territories from Armenian occupation, Azerbaijan has pushed Armenia to sign the surrender document. A joint statement on the matter was made by Azerbaijani president, Armenia&#8217;s PM and the president of Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A complete ceasefire and a cessation of all hostilities in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is introduced at 00:00 hours (Moscow time) on 10 November 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Armenian Armed Forces launched a large-scale military attack on positions of Azerbaijani army on the front line, using large-caliber weapons, mortars and artillery on Sept. 27. Azerbaijan responded with a counter-offensive along the entire front.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Back in July 2020, Armenian Armed Forces violated the ceasefire in the direction of Azerbaijan&#8217;s Tovuz district. As a result of Azerbaijan&#8217;s retaliation, the opposing forces were silenced. The fighting continued the following days as well. Azerbaijan lost a number of military personnel members, who died fighting off the attacks of the Armenian Armed Forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. As a result of the ensuing war, Armenian Armed Forces occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts.
