Bus services opened to some Karabakh areas

Work has begun to open bus services to some liberated territories of Azerbaijan, said Nurida Allahyarova, head of the State Road Transport Service’s public relations department under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies.

“An order has been signed to hold a competition to determine the carriers. The competition commission has been established—the list of regions where bus services at the initial stage are also known. Passenger transportation will be after full access to demined areas. In the beginning, passengers from Ganja, Beylagan, and Yevlakh will be transported to the liberated territories. In the first stage, transportation will be carried out in Horadiz, Sugovushan, Talysh villages, Jabrayil, and Zangilan, and in the second stage in other liberated regions. Considering the passengers’ great desire, we have included transporting to Shusha in the first stage,” she noted.

“Additional experts will be involved in supporting the work of the Competition Commission. There are rules in this regard. Carriers will be engaged under the procedures, conditions, and deadlines set out in these rules. The time, place, and main requirements will be announced in the media 30 days before the competition. Carriers will not be admitted to the competition if they do not receive a certificate on the technical inspection results conducted by Road Transport Organization LLC on the condition of the interior and body of buses,” Allahyarova added.
