Ministry of Energy eyes creating green energy zones and "smart cities" in Karabakh

The Ministry of Energy held a meeting through video conferencing with the Japanese company TEPSCO to exchange views on developing a green energy concept for the liberated territories.

According to QİA.AZ, the meeting focused on Japan’s experience in creating green energy zones and “smart cities”.

The company made presentations on the “smart city” experience based on digitalization, decarbonization, and decentralization in Fujisawa, Matsuzawa, Sorashima, and several other Japanese, which includes optimizing transmission and distribution networks to maintain emergency power supply, to expand the use of renewable energy sources and electric vehicles.

The sides also exchanged views on prospects for cooperation in the relevant field and other issues of mutual interest and decided to continue the exchange of information and experience.

Deputy Energy Minister Elnur Soltanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Azerbaijan Junichi Wada, and the TEPSCO management attended the video conferencing.
