The Russian oil company Lukoil will take part in developing the Azerbaijani-Turkmen Dostluk field in the Caspian Sea, “QİA.AZ” informs referring to turkmenportal.com.
The relevant agreements were reached on Feb. 19 during the meeting of Turkmen President Gurbanguli Berdimuhamedov with the head of the company Vagit Alekperov.
“We welcome the Lukoil Public Joint Stock Company’s intentions to take part in the development of the Dostluk field and are ready to consider specific investment proposals for the implementation of this project,” Berdimuhamedov said.
Thanking the head of Turkmenistan for his trust, Vagit Alekperov assured that the company headed by him would make every effort to successfully solve problems related to the implementation of such a significant project as Dostluk.
On Jan. 21, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding on joint exploration and development of hydrocarbon resources of the Dostluk field in the Caspian Sea.
