Iran denies detentain of 160 Armenian servicemen on its territory

The Iranian Embassy in Yerevan denied rumors about the presence of 160 Armenian servicemen on the territory of Iran, “QİA.az” informs with reference to a statement of the Iranian Embassy.

“The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Republic of Armenia considers the rumors spreading in some Armenian media that 160 Armenian soldiers are in Iran, and the Iranian side has voiced preconditions for their return as false and unfounded,” the statement says.

Several Armenian media outlets had reported that 160 Armenian soldiers crossed the Armenian-Iranian border during the 44-day Karabakh war, and now they are detained in Iran.
