Milli Majlis discusses criteria for determining disability

Eleven issues were considered at the meeting of the Milli Mejlis Committee on Labor and Social Policy.

Report informs, citing the Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis, that the discussions involved first deputy chairman of the Milli Majlis Ali Huseynli, deputy chairman of the Milli Majlis Adil Aliyev, head of the Milli Majlis apparatus Safa Mirzoyev, chairmen and deputies of eight parliamentary committees, representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, representatives of the Agency for Expertise and Rehabilitation.

The deputies were informed that over the past three years, a law “On the rights of persons with disabilities” was adopted, and in connection with its application, 18 normative legal acts were prepared and approved. Together with international organizations and experts, “Criteria for determining disability” have been developed. In connection with applying the new criteria, a package of amendments to about 100 normative legal acts was prepared and submitted, including 11 codes, 50 laws.
