French authorities do not rule out the reimposition of some restrictions in separate regions, including a curfew, due to the worsening epidemiological situation as coronavirus cases are surging, Clément Beaune, Minister of State for European Affairs, said on BFM TV channel.

Report informs citing TASS that Beaune said country’s President Emmanuel Macron noted during his televised address on July 12 that the prefects of the French regions will have the right to introduce quarantine restrictions. “Measures must comply with the severity of the situation,” Clément Beaune said.

“The only way to overcome the epidemic is through vaccination,” he said.

On July 18, the country reported over 12,000 new coronavirus cases in one day. Experts consider that this indicator evidences a new outbreak of the epidemic in France.
