The death toll from heavy rainfall flooding in central China’s Henan province has risen to 63, and five more are still missing, local authorities said at a press briefing,
Previously, the authorities announced 58 dead and five missing.
According to updated data, 11.45 million residents of the province suffered varying degrees of damage. Over the past week, more than 1.3 million people were evacuated to safe areas.
About 876,000 hectares of agricultural land were flooded.
