Georgia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in Azerbaijan Zurab Pataradze and a delegation led by Chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues of Georgia Zaza Vashakmadze have visited the State Committee for Work with Diaspora.
Report informs that the first deputy chairman of the committee, Valeh Hajiyev told the guests about the directions of activity, the policy of tolerance pursued by Azerbaijan, the strong relations of friendship and brotherhood between the ethnic and religious communities residing in the country.
The committee official stressed that Azerbaijan and Georgia have always enjoyed friendly relations of good neighborship, and today the Azerbaijan-Georgia ties are based on common strategic interests.
He noted that Azerbaijan always showed great respect for other nations and faiths, and the country always works hard towards ensuring the dialogue between civilizations, international peace, and security.
Chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues of Georgia Zaza Vashakmadze thanked the Committee officials for the warm and sincere reception. He said Georgia always supported the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
After that, he provided detailed information about the religious policy pursued by the Georgian government and the state support for the ethnic and religious community. The agency chairman said that there are good conditions for all religions in Georgia, and there are all conditions for the social integration of Azerbaijanis who live in Georgia.
Then the sides discussed and voiced proposals on the issues related to the national traditions of ethnic Georgians living in Azerbaijan and the protection of their national identity.
At the end of the meeting, the sides presented each other with souvenirs and took a memory photo.
