During the first seven months of the year, Azerbaijan’s exports amounted to $11.4 billion, including $1.4 billion in the non-oil sector, Report informs, citing the Center for Economic Reforms Analysis and Communication.
According to the information, the exports in the non-oil sector were up 30.5% or $316.8 million from the same period of 2020.
Fruits and vegetables had the main share in non-oil exports, at $338 million during the first seven months of the year. In the reporting period, Azerbaijan saw a 2.4-fold share in exports of ferrous metals and their products, a 2.8-fold increase in cotton yarn, a 2.3-fold increase in sugar, 37% increase in chemical industry, 88.5% in cotton fiber, 42% in aluminum, and products.
Exports in July made $2.6 billion, including $192 million in the non-oil sector, which posted a 55.7% growth. In July 2021, exports of food products increased by 6% compared to the same month last year to $43 million, and non-food products increased by 80.1% to $149 million.
