Charge d’affaires of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Azerbaijan has been invited to the country’s Foreign Ministry, Report informs referring to the ministry.
During the meeting, serious concern and protest were expressed in connection with the biased and offensive statement of State Duma deputy, Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) Chairman Vladimir Zhirinovsky on air of the Komsomolskaya Pravda channel in the “Results with Zhirinovsky” program on July 30.
It was emphasized that the behavior of this person, represented in the State Duma of the Russian Federation, is unethical, doesn’t correspond to the spirit of friendship and strategic partnership between Russia and Azerbaijan. It was noted that his irresponsible and provocative statements aimed at damaging these relations are unacceptable.
In connection with the incident, the opposite side was handed a note from the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
