Authorities in Egypt continue to mitigate anti-coronavirus restrictions, relaunching the leisure sector, Report informs, citing RIA Novosti.

After 16 months, the ministry of tourism and antiquities has allowed the operation of theaters, concert halls, amusement parks, casinos, nightclubs, and discos, including within hotel complexes.

Their occupancy is limited to 70 percent of the hall’s maximum capacity, subject to the fulfillment of all sanitary measures and the availability of an appropriate license from the Ministry of Tourism.

Discos and nightclubs will be open until 2 am. At the same time, the ban on serving hookah in restaurants, cafes, and other public places remains.

Earlier, the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism increased the maximum occupancy of hotels and restaurants from 50, a standard for COVID time, to 70 percent, citing a slowdown in the spread of infection.

The situation with the coronavirus in the country is stabilizing, the authorities say. For example, the Egyptian Ministry of Health reported 77 new cases of coronavirus infection on July 16, bringing the total to 283,567.
