The first EU-US summit in the past seven years has kicked off in Brussels today, with US President Joe Biden attending, Report informs, citing TASS.
Heads of the European Commission and the Council of Europe Ursula von der Leyen and Charles Michel and the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell represent the European Union at the summit.
As a source in the EU told reporters in Brussels the day before, the meeting is intended to restore relations between Brussels and Washington. In addition, the parties intend to discuss the coordination of policy towards Russia and launch a bilateral dialogue on Russia. The meeting agenda will also include the pandemic, China, the crisis in Belarus, the conflict in eastern Ukraine, and the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Iranian nuclear deal, and relations with Turkey.
