India renews record in coronavirus mortality

India has set another record in daily coronavirus mortality, “QİA.az” informs, citing the Indian Health and Family Welfare Ministry.

Over the past day, medical specialists identified 338,439 coronavirus cases in the country.

Meanwhile, 3,780 Indians died from coronavirus-related health complications. The previous record hike was seen on May 2, when 3,689 patients with coronavirus died.

India has the second-highest number of registered COVID-19 cases in the world after the United States.

Earlier, the director of the National Center for Disease Control, Sujeet Kumar Singh, said that the “British”, “South African” and “Brazilian” strains of the coronavirus, as well as its variant with a double mutation, are responsible for the increase in the incidence in India.
