Almost 90% of those infected with COVID in Moscow fell ill with the new Indian strain of coronavirus. In order to resist it, a person must have twice as many antibodies as to the Wuhan virus, said Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin in an interview with Channel One, Report informs citing RIA Novosti.

“According to the latest data that we received, 89.3% of patients fell ill with a mutated coronavirus … this is an Indian strain,” Sobyanin said.

According to him, the new strain turned out to be more aggressive and spreads faster.

“And the most unpleasant thing is that in order to resist a person, his immune status, the number of antibodies, must be twice as high as against the Wuhan virus,” he added.
