Samsung Electronics’ net profit in the first quarter of 2021 increased almost 1.5 times compared to the first quarter of the previous year to 7.14 trillion won ($6.4 billion), “QİA.az” informs referring to the message of the company.
Revenue for the period increased 18.2 percent to 65.39 trillion won ($58.7 billion), while operating income was 9.38 trillion won ($8.4 billion), which is almost 1.5 times higher than in the first quarter of 2020.
The company attributed the rise in operating profit to strong sales of smartphones and home appliances, which were offset by declining profits from semiconductors and displays.
