Supply of dairy products from Russia to Azerbaijan and Georgia may grow

The Russian dairy plant ‘Stavropolskiy’ plans to increase supplies of products to Azerbaijan and Georgia, Report informs referring to the Russian media.

“Last year, the Stavropolskiy dairy plant for the first time sent trial consignments of lactose in the volume of 1.5 tons to Georgia and Azerbaijan. At the same time, the plant shipped 2 tons of glazed curds to its partner for delivery to the US. This was another achievement of the enterprise as an exporter,” said Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Krai Dmitry Frolko.

He said that by the end of the year, as part of the ‘International Cooperation and Export’ national project, it is planned to achieve the export of agricultural products from the region for $448.5 million, which should exceed last year’s indicators by 10 percent.

This year, Stavropol Krai companies exported dairy products worth $240,000 or more than 140 tons. In value terms, exports grew by 18 percent year-on-year. In the export structure, ice-cream took the first place – $79,900, milk and cream are second – $78,400, butter is third $73,100, followed by fermented milk products and cheeses – $8,600.
