Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) Vugar Suleymanov met with British Ambassador to Azerbaijan James Sharp, “QİA.AZ” informs, referring to ANAMA’s website.
The ambassador was informed about the humanitarian demining operations carried out by the agency, as well as the planned work in accordance with the upcoming priorities.
At the meeting, the sides discussed further projects, the implementation of which is envisaged in the field of humanitarian demining, including strengthening the material and technical base of the agency, as well as in raising awareness about the safety of explosives, supported by UNICEF and funded by donations from the British Embassy in Azerbaijan.
As part of bilateral cooperation, the ambassador noted that the UK would support Azerbaijan in the clearance of mines and unexploded ordnance from the territories liberated from the occupation.
