Azerbaijani, Georgian capitals ink Memorandum of Twinning

The Head of the Baku Executive Power Eldar Azizov has received the delegation headed by the Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, Report informs.

Welcoming the guests, Eldar Azizov noted that there are long-standing friendly and good-neighborly relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia. According to him, the Azerbaijani-Georgian ties have reached the level of strategic partnership.

“Nowadays, relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia are developing in many areas. Mutual visits open up new opportunities for the further development of our relations,” Azizov added.

Noting that the Azerbaijani and Georgian peoples have lived in peace and friendship for centuries, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, in turn, said that his country attaches particular importance to relations with Azerbaijan. He thanked Baku for hospitality and stressed that his visit would play a specific role in strengthening ties between Baku and Tbilisi.

Kakha Kaladze expressed admiration for the beauty of Baku and highly appreciated the extensive landscaping and construction work carried out in the city.

Then the mayors inked a Memorandum of Twinning between Baku and Tbilisi.

The meeting was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Georgia Faig Guliyev and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Georgia to Azerbaijan Zurab Pataradze.
