The Сhild Rights Protection Unit was established at the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, taking into account the main principles of state child policy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the recommendations of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child and other relevant international organizations.
The main purpose of establishing a special unit on children’s rights is to improve the activity and management in the relevant field.
The Unit will contribute to the classification of the existing problems in the concerned area, child rights awareness, ensuring the participation and accessibility of children in the issues related to them, properly addressing the appeals in relation to the child rights violations and strengthening the cooperation with the state agencies, civil society organizations, as well as international organizations specialized in the protection of child rights.
